Cathedral of Saint Panteleimon of Molyvos

<p>The Cathedral of Saint Panteleimon is an<br />
important parish church as well as a monument of the cultural and ecclesiastical heritage of<br />
the historic town of Mythimna (Molyvos). Located in the heart of the traditional settlement,<br />
the church is dedicated to Saint Panteleimon, protector of the sick and one of the most<br />
beloved saints of the Orthodox Church. It stands out for its imposing architecture, which<br />
combines Byzantine and local folk elements, as well as for its elaborate carved wooden<br />
iconostasis and the remarkable icons that adorn its interior. The church plays a key role in<br />
the religious and social life of Molyvos, and every year, on the feast day of the Saint on 27<br />
July, it attracts large numbers of worshippers and visitors</p>
